Military Support – If Everyone Cared

Military Compassion

I know that the first thing people usually think of when they think of any military are the battles.  After all, the military’s job of any country is to defend that particular country.  What would happen if there was a day that there were no battles?  I know it is hard to believe or even think about but what would happen?

Just because the military is there to defend the country does not mean they are cold blooded killers.  Quite the contrary in fact.  Every soldier has a sense of duty and doing right.  The news media is quick to show pictures of destruction and blast them all over the news for the next couple of days but that is not what the military is completely about.

Defending those who Can’t

The men and women of our great military do much more than many people think, they help the people of the area who do not always have the means to defend themselves against those who wish to do them harm.  I understand that pictures such as these do not make headlines and is not always news worthy, but why do we not see more like this in mainstream media?  maybe if we were able to see the good that our military is doing on a more regular basis, many throughout the world would not have such a skewed view on our NATO International Security Assistance Forcemilitary and what we actually bring to the table.  If you want to see the true heart of an individual, just see how they act around children and animals.  I have seen the biggest baddest men and women in the military melt like butter when a small child enters the room.  Also, today it has been shown that dogs can have a therapeutic effect on people dealing with stress.

The men and women of our military do have a soft side and it does come out, sadly, it is very often not shown in main stream media.  When they say the true heroes do not want to be called heroes, they are correct.  Most of the men and women I know just want to do what is right and let their soldiers-with-their-military-dogs-2actions speak for them and not want the tags that can go with it at times.  Maybe thatTYN-Soldier-with-Boy is why the main stream media does not show this side of the military and not the rankings it would bring with it.  Or lack there of for rankings.

I know that our military does care and maybe, just maybe, if everyone else wanted to truly avoid war and took the time out to care like a majority of the men and women in the military, maybe just one day we could have a day where nobody died.

If Everyone Cared – Nickelback

When going through some videos for this years Veterans Day blogs, I came across this one and listened to it and liked it.  Not really sure how I could work it into a blog for the day, I found another that would go pretty much with this kind of song so I decided to put it in for the blog today.  Plus I like the fact that the last picture is the one I use on all my Hero Home Source pages.  I hope you like it.

Please feel free to leave a reply at the bottom and tell me what you think of any of my blogs.  If any military veterans or those currently serving would like to share some of their experiences, I would welcome the sharing of your experiences.
